Hello,

I have been testing the Q3 release of the RichTextBox  (I'm using a trial version).  Our application needs to edit DOCX files that contain items such as:
  • table of contents
  • multiple columns in some sections
  • tables
  • borders around text

In opening one of these files in the RichTextBox it appears that the following is happening:

  • The table contents does not render, rather the space is left blank.
  • Columns do not render.
  • Some tables are visible and some are not.  The tables that are visible do not retain the column widths from the original document.
  • Borders around text do not render.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong here, or these features are not yet supported.  I would appreciate any information about how to sucessfully edit these documents, or to know that these document features are not supported currently.

I'm happy to send example documents.  My documents contain sensitive information and I want to be sure that they will not be generally viewable on the forum.

Thank You,
Randy

Hello Randy,

Thank you for your interest in RadRichTextBox. We hope that you will find it suitable for your needs.
With regard to the features you enlisted:

  • Table of contents - currently there is no support for this feature;
  • Multiple columns in some sections - this feature is also not supported as of now, but planned to be available soon.
  • Tables - we introduced tables in Q3 Beta release. Some more advanced features are still not available, but we're working on this as we speak.
  • Borders around text are also not supported currently.
Overall, we have these features on our agenda and will be looking into implementing them.
If you like, you can open a support ticket and send over a sample document, so that we are more aware of the requirements of your scenario.
Let us know if we can assist you further.

Sincerely yours,
Iva
