Heres the scenario.....I have hundreds of pages with content created with version 2 of the RAD Editor. Now I want to upgrade the editor.
In my test environment I followed the instructions and removed the old version and installed the new version. All content that was created with the old version is now lost.
Can this not be done properly?! I cant upgrade if the existing content is lost??

Hello Mike,
The content created with r.a.d.editor v2 should not be lost when upgrading to a newer version.
I checked the documentation and there seems to be a mistake in the upgrading instructions. The line
<bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-2.9.9.0" newVersion="0.0.0.0" />
should actually be
<bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-3.0.0.0" newVersion="3.0.1.0" />

Maybe Im looking at the wrong place because I dont remember doing that. Please post a url to the page with upgrading instructions.

I think Dimitar was referring to the documentation, which is bundled in the r.a.d.editor SharePoint edition download. There should be a file in the archive, called RadEditorManual_sharepoint.chm. Open the contents of this help file and navigate to the topic Installation and Deployment > Upgrading Instructions > From Older Versions. This topic lists the steps you need to make when you are upgrading the editor web part to a newer version.
