We're considering using Telerik's Data Access, but before we do so we'd need to know that Telerik is committed to its continued development. I noticed that the Roadmap still has Q3 2013 items listed on it. Is there an updated Roadmap somewhere? Does Telerik plan to continue developing Data Access going forward?

Thanks.

Hi Sam,

Yes, we are continuing the development of Telerik Data Access. As we have released Q3 2013 SP2 just recently, and we are already approaching the release of Q1 2014 expected in the end of February, there won't be many new features or improvements. We did however manage to get quite of few of those into Q3 2013 SP1 and Q3 2013 SP2. What you can expect from Q1 2014 apart from the implementations already released in the service packs is the support for the Oracle Managed Driver, which has been requested numerous times in the past year.

Stay tuned as we will be posting our plans for the next releases in our Roadmap. Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns regarding Telerik Data Access.

Ah ok. I had no idea that you had released service packs or that they were more recent than Q3 2013.

Your naming scheme is horrible, IMO. Code you release in Jan 2014 should not have Q3 2013 in its title. You guys should try version numbers like most other products use.

Hi Sam,

Thank you for the recommendation - this system can be confusing in cases like Q3 2013 SP2, indeed.

Do not hesitate to share any additional feedback or concerns.
