[Solved] Unable to select Inserted Image in Google Chrome. And Page shifts while clicking Insert Image in Google Chrome.

Hi,

I am using MVC Telerik Editor of version 2011.2.712 in my application. Below, I am placing few browser specific issues.

1) Unable to select Inserted Image in Google Chrome:

After inserting images into the Telerik Editor, using Google Chrome browser, I am unable to select that image to perform either replace or resize operations. I am enclosing the required screen shots for reference. This works fine in Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Please refer to the following Screen shots:

a)    Inserting Image into Editor in Chrome

b)    Unable to select in Google Chrome and

c)    Able to select and resize in Internet Explorer.

2) Page shifts while clicking Insert Image in Google Chrome:
To repro this issue, I am placing enough space on top and bottom of the Telerik Editor, to acheive free scroll over the page.
Now click the Insert Image icon. The page shifts/ scrolls down. The level of shift varies with the position of the Editor. If the editor page is further scrolled down and clicking the icon would shift/scroll the page further proportionately.
Please refer to the following screen shots:

a)    Initial Page Load

b)    Scroll down and set the Editor at the middle of the screen

c)    Page Shifts on clicking Insert Image Icon in Chrome and

d)    Works fine in Internet Explorer and Firefox respectively.

Can anyone please help me resolve this issue?

Hi Ramakrishna,

I see that Atanas has already answered your first question - in short, the reason for this behavior is that this feature is still not supported by the browser.
As for the second question, I tried to reproduce it, but everything worked correctly. If you still experience it, please provide a sample project and we will investigate further.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I accept that we cannot resize the image in the editor, with current version of Google Chrome browser. However, on single click of the image it should get selected. Using TinyMCE Editor in chrome, we are able to select the inserted image just with a single click on it and perform an update action. Whereas using Telerik Editor in Chrome, to get selection on the inserted image we have to swap the cursor over the image either from left or right like performing shift + left arrow or right arrow from either sides of the image, using keyboard. So, I think this cannot be a browser issue and expect only resizing to be a browser issue.

With respect to my second discussion point "Page shifts while clicking Insert Image in Google Chrome", I am enclosing the sample application of Telerik editor. Here, I added enough line brakes in the html page to allow free page scroll. After page load, scrolled down the page further to set the editor appear in middle of the screen, such that, there is enough space at the bottom and top for scroll. Now, clicking the insert image icon would shift from the current position of the page towards up. This is reproduced only in Chrome.

Please let me know further solutions derived.

Thank you for the project - I was able to reproduce the problem now. To fix it, please upgrade to the latest version (Q3 2011 - 2011.3.1115).
