Hello Dan,
You can check whether the version you are using is a trial one through the File Description property of Telerik.Windows.Documents.Core.dll. I am attaching an image to show where this property can be found.
To remove the automatically generated message from the document, you will need to replace the trial assembly with a licensed one.

I am using a licensed version and everything was ok. I must have overwritten it with a trial version. I deleted everything and re-installed the licensed version, and now it works great from VS. However, I still get that error with any of the deployed versions. How do I get them to realize I've got a licensed copy?

Hi Arnie,
You will need to ensure that the deployed version is using the licensed binaries. Can you check if there are some cached versions of the application? It seems like the references are still pointing to trial assemblies. If it is an option for you, you cold try deleting the application and deploying it again to ensure everything is up to date.

The deployed versions are built on another computer that never had the trial version. I tried it on someone else's computer and it works fine. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the deployed version with the same results. This appears to be a problem unique to my computer.

Hello Arnie,
The trial message is only shown when a trial version of the assemblies is used, so I assume that there are some cached binaries on your machine. Can you try cleaning the assemblies from GAC? However, since the application is deployed on a server and you are accessing it remotely, it should refer its binaries from a location on the server and not from your local machine. What happens when you try to run the application from a machine without any Telerik binaries installed on?
