HI

Latest Test Studio records the steps/action performed on the application even if Recording button is paused. why this happens?
Let me explain you in details. Let say i want to record operation of Logout.

1. Open blank browser using Recorder
2. Open Application. Pause Recording button
3. Login in the application

Here, though the Recording button is pause, it will record operations of Login. Ideally it should not record operations.
Any comment/suggestion on this. May be i am following wrong step to pause the recording button ?

Hello Gaurav,

This is something that should not happen, but we are unable to reproduce this behavior locally - can you help us do it? Please tell me which version of Test Studio are you using - the latest Q1.2011 release? or some older Q3.2010? I can see you have both of them, so want to be sure which exactly is used in this case.

Another question I have is about the login - is it invoked by a login dialog or login fields are attached to the recorded page?

It would be best if you could give us a URL with the page you test or attach a test that shows the problem, so we can work on it asap.

Best wishes,

Thanks for your response.

Anwers to your questions:
1. This issue happens with all the version of Test studio (2010_3_1421 dev& QA  and 2011_1_502)
2. Since the application can be accessed only through VPN(get call on mobile to enter pin), you can not access it.
3. It is silverlight application. So we have to launch it through recorder -blank browser only.

Is these information enough? Let me know what else i can provide you.

Hello Gaurav,

Thank you again for your response. Unfortunately the information you give us is not enough to localize the problem. Can you please tell us about the login - is it through a login popup window/login window or is it part of the main application page?

As you have security restrictions for the page, is it possible to record a video demonstrating the problem, to see if this can help us reproduce the issue?

All the best,
