I'm using SL4 with VS2010 and have selected .NET 3.5 because i don't want the visitors to install .NET 4 first. (ok i forgot this is only for the server site so stupid idea).

I have that error and this at same time:
Error    2    The tag 'Frame' does not exist in XML namespace 'clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.Navigation'.

These errors came suddenly (i just created an event handler in Blend preview and went back to VS10 to write code in it.
I tried searching google first.. :), the namespaces are written correct and added.

Thanks in advance

Hi Felix De Lille,

Well, that sounds like a strange problem. If you can send us the project we might be able to determine what is wrong with it but apart from that it is very difficult to give you any guidance. Is Visual Studio displaying some of your references as broken? If you have Silverlight 3 installed could you please check whether all assembly references are indeed SL4, not SL3 ones?

Did you create this project in Blend Preview or VS10? Is this VS10RC?

I created it in VS2010 Beta2.
All references were SL4, i checked. I think installing all SL3 and SL4 stuff (all  beta's) was bad luck for me somewhere.
I had to reinstall W7 because even SL3 broke for me after (blend 3 didn't show the designer pane anymore). Lost almost 2 days.

I will convert my SL3 to SL4 with the CTP in a week or so for the feature stuff i need.
When does next release of telerik SL4 come out (maybe less problems) ?

Thanks

I asked that, because there seem to be a problem with recent RC release of VS and Blend preview when a new project is created. They want you to create your projects in VS and not in Blend.

I'm not sure if your problem is related to Telerik, or something has become unstable in VS due to having both SL3 and SL4. To be honest with you, I've learned some painful lessons when you're mixing too many betas all together. It's like drinking wine, Beer and Whiskey all at the same time :-) I'm staying with SL3 until everything is in RC stage!

Indeed, best thing to do is install the SL4 stuff on a VMWare instance (if you have alot of ram, was going to buy acer laptop for this , the as-5740g438g64mn that has 8GB DDR3 ram and core I5 for 900€ but it's saled out in 10 local shops i looked on the net. Price is too good. Am gonna buy the 4GB version instead).

I need printing for a shopping site. I can't wait months on the final releases to then begin at it. Clients need to have full site by then.

Thanks for help anyways.

Felix, what are you using for handling data? RIA or WCF and your own routine or Astoria? Just remember, if you're using RIA with SL4, neither one has any "GoLive". So, the public does not have the plugin for SL4. Actually, even if you are not using RIA, you still can't go live till we get "GoLive" public plugin, which we don't know when that's going to happen. I say this to you, since you mentioned the client can't wait months, by using SL4, you may actually put yourself in that position not knowing. Just FYI!

i don't use ria services. I tried it and read also that it's only good for standard lob apps. Not enough customization for the generated classes in terms of business logic. So i use plain web services now.

I can wait 2 months for it to go live so i will wait to the MIX for more news.

Thanks
