I just downloaded the RadControls for Silverlight 2009 3 1103 dev.msi and installed it on my dev machine (Windows 7, IIS7, Visual Studio 2008 SP1. When I navigate from Visual Studio to the Telerik folder on my C: drive and to the Demos folder and try and start ExamplesCS_SL.sln I am getting the following error message.

The project file 'C:\Program Files\Telerik\RadControls for Silverlight Q3 2009\Demos\Book\Book.CS.csproj" cannot be opened.
The project type is not supported by this installation.
This happens for all the csproj files in the Demo Solution. What am I missing?

Hello Patrick,

Most probably you have not Silverlight Tools installed. Download and install it from here:

I had the same issue when opening the ASP.NET AJAX Sales Orders demo.  Installng the Silverlight tools fixed this as well.

In the Telerik.SalesDashboard.Data project of the solution, there is a reference to the Telerik.OpenAccess assembly that is broken.  It seems there is a Telerik.OpenAccess.Persistent member/property being accessed in the C# code that is contained in this assembly, but the only .dll file I see in the References folder is the Telerik.OpenAccess.Query.dll.  This assembly is referenced in the project as well, but every pointer to the Telerik.OpenAccess.Persistent type in the code is still unresolved.

Thank you very much,

Andy

Hello Andy,

You also need to have OpenAccess Q3 2009 trial version installed in order to run the Sales Dashboard demo.

You can check the full requirements in the enclosed README file.

All the best,
