Hello guys,

first, let me tell you that TeamPulse is exactly what i needed to plan my iterations. We use TFS2010 with EMC Scrum 2010 Process Template. Especially the Plan an iteration and decompose into work feature. And i love the Ideas section to handle to work before filling the Product Backlog. Great job.

My problem is that TFS Sync does not sync the tasks on the TFS side, they only exists in TPulse database, which makes the use of this tool useless at this point.

Did I make a mistake ? Is it a bug somewhere ? Do you plan to extend to TFSsync to that items also ?

Hi Eric,

The beta you are using did not include syncing tasks, but it has been implemented and will be included with the full release of the syncing feature for Q3. Tasks associated with stories in TeamPulse will arrive in TFS with a relationship of Parent/Child to the associated story. Unlike with stories you will not be able to select individual tasks to sync; if the parent story is marked for syncing, all child tasks will sync with it.

Do we expect this to be working in the latest version?

We synced all our PBIs -> Stories and Bugs -> Bugs from TFS to Team Pulse.  However, none of our SBTs -> Tasks showed up.  I am looking at the map:

<FieldMapping TeamPulseFieldName="StoryID" TeamPulseFieldType="integer" DestinationFieldName="ParentStoryID" DestinationFieldDisplayName="Parent" DestinationFieldType="integer" />

Does this work?

Hello,

That mapping does work, but it is a 'special' one. It will only pull in Tasks from TFS if they have built in Parent\Child relationship with a story. With the Story on the Parent side of the relationship and the Task on the Child side. It will not sync any Tasks that are related via any other relationship type.

You can find more information here: http://www.telerik.com/agile-project-management-tools/support-resources/documentation/user-guide/features/synchronization/synchronization-process/what-to-sync.aspx

Hi,

sorry for hijacking this.

The EMC template uses a different relationship for stories and tasks (implements/implemented by) than parent/child. Is there any way to tell TeamPulse to use a different relationship?

Right now it's not usable for me, because TeamPulse doesn't recognise any of the existing tasks and new tasks are synced with a wrong relationship.

Thanks!

Cheers,
M.

Hi Markus,

At the moment there is no way sync using a different type of relationship between stories and tasks.  We have had this request before and have talked about it internally.  I've added another vote for this feature on your behalf.  It's not a very big feature so changes are good that we will try to squeeze it in at some point.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Joel,

Too bad, it really is a bit of a showstopper for me right now.

Thanks for voting.
