Hello,
I am trying to install TFS integration tool and i have an issue at the stage when it is asking about 'Database Information'
I have SQLServer 2008 R2 installed at my PC. Usually when i connect , i connect to (local) server name with windows authentication.
Now when installing TFS integration toolI see it is asking for server\instance
I entered (local)\SQLServer and i get an error as below:
<Error connection to database XXXX\XXXX. .......provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error:26 -Error Locating Server\Instance specified.>
Any solution please?

Hello,
For the SQL Server data source, you should be able to enter exactly what you normally would when connecting to your database via a program like SQL Server Management Studio. So if you normally use (local), you should be able to use that to connect to your database instance.
I have attached a screenshot of Application Authentication Settings screen from the TeamPulse installer. Can you please send us a similar screenshot showing what you entered? It would also be helpful to show a screenshot of what you use to connect to your database via SQL Server Management Studio.
Thanks,
Joel

Can you check one more time your sql server "Server name"?
In most of the cases it should be only "(local)" not "(local)\SQLServer".

Hello,
From the screenshot provided it looks like you are trying to install the TFS Integration Tools created by Microsoft. That product is not affiliated with Telerik or TeamPulse so unfortunately we cannot provide any support for it. I would recommend posting your question on the integration forum located here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tfsintegration
Sorry we did not notice this sooner. We thought the question might be TeamPulse related because one of the features of TeamPulse is indeed integration with TFS.
Thanks,
Joel
