Hi

Regarding licensing for Test Studio - Is it $169/mth and I can use it on one workstation - and I could transfer it to another workstation - but if I want to run locally and also as part of CI build process I need two licenses.

Then if I want to include 3 more developers who will need to run it .. some of the time... not their primary focus - I am in for 5 licenses?i.e. over $800/mth.

Can anyone give any clarity on the license usage - how do people get started on a budget?

 Thanks

Hi Stuart,

Depending on your needs the price is as follows:
  • Functional Edition: $169/mo or $2499 perpetual
  • Load Edition: $79/mo or $999 perpetual
  • Ultimate Edition (includes both Functional and Load and Performance): $199/mo or $2999 perpetual
  • Runtime edition: $29/mo or $349 perpetual

All of the monthly subscription prices have a 12 mo minimum.contract. Access to the software ends when your subscription expires.

With the perpetual license you pay the one time license fee and you can continue using the software forever.

Yes you can transfer your license between machines as often as you need. CI machines only need the Runtime edition. Only users that will be creating and maintaining test scripts need one of the other 3 editions thus saving you $ that way.

We feel the price is very fair and reasonable even for those that are on a budget. When budget is extremely tight make sure you pick the right edition for the right environment. Runtime edition is just like full Test Studio except is It is perfect for environments or people that will only execute tests, not develop or maintain tests.
