Telerik remote execution not working in VSTS

     Hello,

we made a pipeline for Telerik to run tests on a remote virtual machine using command line task as the documentation suggests. When we login to that machine and execute a list via command prompt manually everything works fine.

 

However, when VSTS executes the command line remotely on that same machine the task fails. Telerik run results show that none of test steps is being executed. Can you help out with identifying the source of this behavior? Please see attached screenshots for reference.

Hi Aleksandar,

Thank you for sharing details about the faced misbehavior. 

Based on the shared details I can think of two possible troubles what the issue might be caused by, One option is that the VSTS agent on the build machine is not running in interactive mode but as a Windows service instead. Can you please double check how you had configured the agent and modify that in case it is necessary. Here you can find some guidance advice on the topic. 

The other possible issue could be that there is no active and unlocked desktop session on the build machine. Please find additional details about that scenario along with possible solutions in this article.

In case none of the above is applicable, please open the test list results file - see the attachment for reference - and let me know what information is listed there. Hopefully we will find additional details in the log to sort out the issue.

Hi Elena,

 

thanks for the response. Sorry for the late reply, the issue was in our machine setup. We repurposed our old Selenium machine for Telerik and it was running in service mode. After changing the agent to run in interactive mode everything works fine.
