[Solved] Telerik' is not a member of 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper(Of Object)'

Telerik' is not a member of 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper(Of Object)'
I have found a few posts about this problem but no answers that work.

No matter what i do i keep getting this error. I have reinstalled, rebuit, deleted bin folder I just cant get it to work, my customers site is down and I have far too many MVC controls in use to work around it or convert to kendo.

The project compiles but when i vist site it gives a Object reference not set to an instance of an object error.

I have started a new project and tried to get MVC controls to work but the same problem, i also tried to add kendo, but get the same problem with kendo also, html.kendo does not exist. how to solve this?

Update Solved
I again made a new project this time not in the same solution and all worked, i then worked out i had a MVC 3 app in the same solution when removing this all is ok.

hope this helps omeone else one day.
