Is anyone else having persistant issues with the Telerik controls and Blend 3 (yes, SP1)?

It seems liek I can get blend to display a Telerik control about 50% of the time, but as soon as I work with it for any amount of time, unpredictably, it will simply barf and start refusing to show me the page. The error messages differ depending on the page and the control - but in essense, the combination is useless.

Is this a common problem or am I just having a bad karmic experience?

  • Yes, it happens in brand new projects
  • Yes, it happens on more than one machine
  • No, it does NOT happen if I do not involve the Telerik controls

Thanks!

Ken

Hello Kenneth,

I am sorry to hear that you are going through such troubles when using our controls. I have to admit that some of our controls are not where we want them to be in terms of Blend experience. It is our highest priority to greatly improve on this part for Q1.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

All the best,

Have the latest releases (the ones including VS2010 support) helped this situation at all? Anyone know?

Hi Kenneth Jamieson,

I am not sure I quite understand your question here. If you are looking for some information about VS2010 support for our controls you can find it here.

Best wishes,

Hey there :)

No, my question was whether the latest releases helped the Blend situation (topic of this thread) at all. There was talk above that newer releases woudl help address the blend fragility, and I was curious as to that status :)

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough!

Hi Kenneth Jamieson,

The severe Blend 3 crash was resolved after a few days after the SP1. The internal builds which followed are improving the overall Blend experience here and there but there are no major improvements as of yet. We already are testing internaly some improvements and others are currently in development. That being said I am uncertain whether or not we can include some of those in a weekly build prior to Q1.

I realize this is quite a wait and I am hopeful we will make it worth your while.

Hey there!

Thanks for the reply. Fortunately the VS2010 support has eased the pain some, but yes - it will really be great when this stuff works 100%!

Hello,
I downloaded last version of internal assembly, now i m be able to right click on a gridview, but when i generate the template like this :
http://www.telerik.com/help/silverlight/gridview-styling-header.html

I have only one part, and i cannot modify any information....

Have you a trick before a correction ? Like send the control template generated by default ?

Thank you.

Hello Ludovic Alcala,

Could you be more specific which templates and for which theme are you interested in so I can provide them to you?
