I have Tasks on live tile but for some reason can't seem to get it to sync Exchange tasks without actually opening the app. Sure, if you open the app, it starts to sync and the Tasks tile will start to show the updated number of tasks. However I'm looking for it to do it without the need to actually manually do this, but rather have it sync itself automatically. Pretty much just like the regular Exchange mail account does this without the need to open the mail app. It seems to me that the setting is in place to sync tasks every 5 minutes, but for some reason that does not happen. Or is it meant to auto-sync only when the app is manually opened? Looking for a solution for it to run in the background. Does one exist at all?
On a bit of a related note - obviously this is not as integrated piece to the WP8 platform, but any chance to get the new task notifications not only to the live tile view, but on a phone wallpaper, where all the notifications on missed calls, texts, unread emails etc. appear?

Hi,
You are right- that is the actual behavior of the application- there is no background process running- to perform the sync, you have to open the application. the reason is saving memory and battery life.
