Hello Andy,
You can follow the status of the feature request using this feedback portal link: TabView: Add Swipe event.
Currently, the request is in Approved state. This means the team has agreed it's a useful feature, but not promised that they will start development within a timeframe.
I recommend using the "Follow this item" button so that when the status changes, you'll be notified immediately if and when the item goes into development. When this happens, you'll be able to get a more definitive time frame from the team.
