I'm currently working with Telerik Trainer 2.3.2.12.
But the application tells me there is no instance of SQL Server installed on my computer.
I'm running SQL Server 2008 Developer edition on the default instance with Windows Authentication.
I recently have installed SQL Server 2008 SP 1.

What could be the problem?

Hi Fred,

I am not sure what could be causing this. SQL server 2008 seems to be working OK on our side.
Could you please provide some further details for your system? OS, any special settings?
Have you seen any other issues with the Trainer or the SQL Server.

We will continue the research but if you find any other relevant info -- please share.

All the best,
Ivo

Fred,
Can you open the About dialog in your SQL Server 2008 and report back what the version number is? This may shed some light on what the problem may be.
Thanks,

It looks like the trainer does not support default instances.  I have SQL 2005 Developer as a named instance (which it finds) and 2008 Developer as a default instance, which it can not find.

Hi,

Default instance of SQL 2008 is working as expected on our side.
Which version number is the SQL server that you are using?
