Hi,

I'd like to use the RichTextBox's spell checking feature in othre languages different than english. Currently, users need the Catalan (CA-es) dictionary, is there any way to provide custom dictionaries?

Hello DanĂ,

There is a help article on SpellCheck that includes a description of how you can add custom dictionaries here. You can directly take a dictionary from the ASP.NET RadSpell component's dictionaries, or, as they are in a very simple text format, import/create your own.
Check it out and let us know if you need further assistance.

Sincerely yours,

Hi Iva,

Do you know if it's possible to import the Office dictionary? I've installed catalan SpellChecker for office in my pc, so it would be a nice solution to import it.

Thanks

Hello DanĂ,

Currently SpellCheck  works with .TDF files out of the box, which is the format used in Telerik ASP.NET RadSpell. We have planned to include support for other file formats, such as MS Office .DIC for example, but I cannot provide you with a particular time frame for that.
You can see how you can create a custom RadSpell dictionary in this blogpost and then use the newly created dictionary in SpellCheck as described here.
Let us know if you need further help.

Hi Telerik,

Is the SpellCheck  works only with .TDF files or it works with other file formats also??

Thanks,
Kotte.

Hi Kotte,

Yes, the SpellChecker works with TDF files only. There is a blog post showing how TDF dictionaries can be created from other file formats here.
