Hi,
I am trying to use a Google App account to send notifications after a scheduled test.
In the Configure as a Scheduling Server application, I had put those parameters Configure Email (SMTP) Server :
Adress : smtp.gmail.com
Port : 25 (and tried 587)
User Email : <myuseraccount>@gmail.com
Password : <mypassword>
Is there something specific to do for using those kind of SMTP server with Test Studio ?
Can you help me configuring this SMTP server ?
Thanks,
Pierre

Hello Riglet,
I found the following information on this page:
Server: smtp.gmail.com
Address (Account Name): full email address
Port: 587 or 465
Email
Password
It also instructs to enable POP in Gmail first, however I'm not certain whether this is necessary for our Scheduling Server email feature. It would be great if you can report back what configuration and steps worked for you.
Greetings,
Anthony

Hi,
Thanks for the reply,
Yes I also followed this tutorial. I tested with the an account with the POP3 activated and this is not working too.
I checked in the log file and get this error line :
"32071" ""7/26/2011 4:56:10 PM"" "Error" "Smtp sending email failed: The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. o19sm591698wbh.9"
The other lines are just informations lines.
Thanks,
Pierre

Hello Riglet,
Nikolai
the Telerik team
We investigated the problem and the issue is that the Gmail server is requiring SSL connection which is currently not available in the Scheduling server. We will add this functionality in some next release. Meanwhile you can check the PITS item status here:
PITS Issue: Public URL
Unfortunately there is no workaround for now.

Hi Nikolai,
Thanks, I thought it was an available feature.
In the meantime, I set up a virtual smtp server which is working good.
Regards,
Pierre
