Hi everybody,

There are a lot of rumors, for Silverlight future as Internet RIA platform. For example I heard that it will not be developed as Internet RIA anymore.  The focus of Silverlight platform (according to Microsoft) will be other.

Our company plans are to use Silverlight as well as Telerik RAD components for building Internet applications. We did not started yet, Silverlight had (or has, I didn’t check recently) some issues with memory management (some memory leaks). Our current platform for Web is ASP, by my personal strong desire is to move to Silverlight.

Any opinions will be helpful.

Nikolay

Hi Nikolay,

Thank you for your questions.

We have already fixed the SL memory leaks in our code - please check this blog post for more information.

As for the Silverlight future - you can watch Scott Gu's keynote on the Firestarter event recorded on 2nd  December where he reveals some of the new goodies of the new version of Silverilght 5. The script of the video can be read here.
Do not miss the Announcing Silverlight 5 blog post.
