Hi,

Can we expect that all Silverlight controls will be transformed to xaml windows8 controls? According Microsoft it should be not that difficult ;-) It would be great if Telerik can design some converter engine, for (telerik) SL controls, that SL project can be converted seamlessly to Win8 xaml metro controls.

Hello Henk,

Although Windows 8  is close to the SL technology it has some differences and aspects that are specific for this platform - Touch experience, Metro design, missing features or changed API, different UI cycle behavior, access to Direct2D API and possibility for mixed rendered UI, etc. Thus, we want our controls to get the maximum benefit from these changes/optimizations and we believe that simple port will suffer some limitations in terms of performance and customization.
Nevertheless,  we will stay close in API and features to SL and Windows Phone 7 (since Windows 8 closest technology is WP7 our API for the existing controls is almost identical) to make the transition from other technologies easy.
