[Solved] Side by side installation

Hi,

Are we able to install the 8.0 & 8.1 versions side by side?



I'm supporting a Win8.0 app but need to upgrade another to 8.1 to use new features.

Hi Glen,

Thank you for the question.

Unfortunately, you cannot have both 8.0 and 8.1 versions installed side by side. Note that you can still use RadControls for Windows 8 and RadControls for Windows 8.1 on the same machine, but only one of them can be installed (and thus referenced as Extension SDK); you will need to reference the dll binaries for the other. Also, could you elaborate a bit more on your scenario that needs side by side installation of the controls? Do you plan to support Windows 8 version of your app for an extended period of time, or is there a reason that is preventing your users from upgrading to Windows 8.1 in the near future?
