Hi,

I have noticed that it is possible to move diagram shapes of the surface of the diagram. This means that you can drag & drop shapes past the edges of the diagram surface without possibility to get those shapes back on the diagram.

This behavior can already be observed from the demo.

It should not be possible to drag shapes in their entireity past the edges of the diagram.

Best Regards,

Peter

Hi peter,

The Diagram does not have any strict size, you can assume that the diagram surface is infinite. When you drag a shape outside the diagram, it actually is outside the viewport, but you are able to pan there and see the shape (Read more here.). Or you can also enable the scroll bars of the diagram, which will lead that when you drag a shape outside, the scroll bars will become visible.
You have also one more option - to use our Thumbnail control that visualize the whole diagram including the shapes that are outside the view port.
Please let us know if you have further questions.

Hi Miro,

I understand that you can zoom in and out.

But when i take the "First Look" demo, i zoom out maximum (so i see the total surface). I can now take a shape from toolbar and drop it next to the surface. There is no way you can now get back the shape, and i can not zoom out additionally either (which i would expect to be possible with what you are saying). so there is no way to get the shape back. Even when i click "fit to window", i can still drop shapes outside the viewport that i cannot get back.

I appreciate the fact that you can have scrollbars, but i don't want them.

I just think... if there are no scrollbars, it should not be possible to drop shapes outside the viewport, especially not if you have zoomed out completely.

Anyway... if this is normal behavior... is there a way to know if an object is not in the viewport?

Best Regards,

Peter

Hi,

I have found a solution using drag event, you can see a solution here:

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=B8AA36071C47A567!349&authkey=!AK-sImGjHXxPNvg

It will simply place the object back in viewport once you release the mouse button. Maybe not the ideal solution for some people, but they could build on this example.

Peter
