I'm trying to bind SelectedItem and I know that it is being set but the current image shown in the slideView is not changed. I see on other forums you had a similar bug in the WP7 version is it possible it was not fixed in the WP8 version?

Well, its close...I'm using PanAndZoom in the item template and also have FilmStrip enabled

I modified the example to use PanAndZoomImage as well as the FilmStrip mode. Could you please take a look at it and let me know if you see something wrong.

I am still having this problem in the current code drop with my WP8 app.
Was this ever resolved? Or is it a change in behavior for WP8? I tried to make a dependency property for SelectedItem like you had in your sample, but it still didn't work for me.

I was unable to reproduce the issue in the first place. Do you have a project reproducing the problem which you can send us? In addition, we've just released our 2012 Q3 Service Pack.
