Hi Telerik,

Since h-scroll is very slow when one has many columns, I was wondering if it was possible to set a different ScrollMode for h-scroll and v-scroll? Typically, I would like to set h-scroll = deferred and v-scroll = real time.

Another question concerning scrolling: I saw that for v-scroll in deferred mode, a small tooltip is shown to display the current line item. Is it possible to do the same for the h-scroll (to show the column header or something like that) ?

Thanks in advance for your answer.
Regards,

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

Setting a ScrollMode property to RealTime or Deferred will affect both - horizontal and vertical scrolling. There is no option to specify different modes for horizontal and vertical scroll.

As to the other question - this tooltip is applied only when vertical scrolling is performed and the horizontal scrolling does not support this feature.

All the best,

Hello Yordanka,

Thanks for the reply...
Do you plan to implement these two features (ScrollMode + Tooltip)? I think it could solve the current performance issues that many people seem to have. Or at least it is a good workaround until you fix the overall performance of the RadTreeListView...

Greetings,
Nicolas

Hello Nicolas,

We have discussed the case in the team and for the time being there are no plans for introducing such a feature as it may result in quite undesirable results.
Nevertheless, thank you for your feedback. We will keep it in mind in future.

Kind regards,
