Hi, I am new to the tileView control, I dont know if this has been asked already, but how do I get my items to scroll? I manually set the number of items across to only 3 but what it does, instead of scrolling (despite there being a scrollbar), they all squeeze into the space that is there. How do I get them to spread out into the scrollbar?

Hello Lone,

If I understand you correctly, you have wrapped a TileView control in a ScrollViewer. The current version of the control does not support internal scrollbars and thus its items (TileViewItems) will be rendered in whatever space is available to the TileView. How this translates to your situation, if I get it correctly, is that you need to manually set the size of the TileView to accommodate your needs. This way the ScrollViewer will display scrollbars if necessary and your tiles will be displayed the way you want them to.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Yes, you understood the question properly. An this is very unfortunate, since I loved the look of the control and it was perfect for my purpose. I will find an alternative however, thank you for your input.

Hello Lone,

Just to follow-up again to make sure that we will file this feature request correctly.

Is your expectation that the TileViewItems will take their needed space automatically and will not sqeeze?

The feature request is that instead of the tiles squeezing together to fit into the small space, they will stay at a constant size and scroll when more tiles enter that would cause them to squeeze.

I've tried putting the tileview in a scrollviewer and setting the height of the TV to a silly value. When the tiles are all minimized I have a scroll bar that will allow me to get to the items of the screen but the maximized tile is <silly value> high. I can't seem to find a property to set the max height of the maximized tile. How do I manage that?

Hello Stuart Hemming,

Unfortunately, by design the maximized/restored RadTileViewItems are displayed evenly in the available space defined by the RadTileView width. However, you can vote for this feature request in our Public  Issue Tracking system thus increasing its priority.

Please let us know if you need more info.

Tina,

Thanks for that. I've added a vote and a comment in PITS.

I suggest that anyone else reading this nips over to PITS using the link Tina added in the previous post and adds their weight to the request.
