The execution of Test Studio functional tests require active and unlocked desktop session. This is due to a Windows OS limitation and any UI testing tools are being affected by this one. You can read additional details on the topic here along with possible workarounds listed at the bottom of the article - the last points to minimized RDC.
In the past year we also had implemented the functionality to configure user sessions settings from the Execution client, which also can be useful for you.
