We ran into some problems with our SharePoint site last weekend and had to reinstall WSS 3.0 and restore the site from a backup.  When we did, we quickly found that none of the custom templates had been restored - so we installed and deployed them all the same way we did the first time (using stsadm).  All of them are working now except for the RadEditor.  It shows up under site features for all of my sites, and it is Active - but none of my forms are showing the RadEditor in Firefox like they used to.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Eriq,

Try to uninstall and reinstall the RadEditor for MOSS again. Then perform an iisrest command.

Thanks for the reply!

I tried that by following the instructions online to uninstall and reinstall, then I ran the IISRESET command.  Everything seemed to work properly (RadEditor was gone from the Site Features, and now it is back and Active again), but I still don't see the RadEditor in Firefox :(

Any other suggestions?

Hi Eriq,

Make sure that you activate the RadEditor feature logged as an Administrator user. Afterwards perform iisreset again.

I am an administrator, but just to be sure I followed these steps AS 'Administrator' and there was no change...
  1. Logged in as 'Administrator'
  2. Retracted Solution from Central Management
  3. Deployed Solution
  4. Went to Site Features
  5. Deactivated RadEditor (was already active)
  6. Activated RadEditor
  7. No Change

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated - we are tearing our hair out trying to get this working again...

Hi Eriq,

Did you perform iisreset after step 6. Activated RadEditor?

Yes, I'm sorry I should have included that in my previous post.

  1. Logged in as 'Administrator'
  2. Retracted Solution from Central Management
  3. Deployed Solution
  4. Performed IISReset
  5. Went to Site Features
  6. Deactivated RadEditor (was already active)
  7. Activated RadEditor
  8. Performed IISReset
  9. No Change

Any other suggestions?  Are there any logs or headers I can post that might help?

Hi Eriq,

One thing that you can try is disable all the RadEditor features before step "2. Retracted Solution from Central Management".

Thanks for the reply.  The strangest thing happened...I swear I haven't made any changes since my last post, but all of a sudden it started working yesterday.  I honestly have no idea how, but I'm certainly not complaining!  Thanks for your help with this issue!
