[Solved] Request time out when create new folder for uploading file

Hi support team,

I have a problem when using Rad editor for sharepoint 2003. When I open document manager dialog, I want to create new folder for uploading file by clicking New Folder button on toolbar, but I recieve the error "Request time out". So what's wrong with me ? Please help me.

Hi Thinh,

I am unable to reproduce the problem on our local SPS 2003 installation. Please give us some more information about your environment: what rights does the currently logged in user have? Can you create folders in the library when you access it directly from the Sharepoint site and not through the editor? What is the library type? Does the problem occur in all libraries or is it specific to a certain one?

Hi Support team,

I think the problem only occurs with document library has many files. In my document library there's more than 2000 files. Everytime I use RadEditor to browse the folder it's very slow and if I upload file to this folder time out error will occur.

Hi Thinh,

The current version of the file browser dialogs of RadEditor is not able to quickly load a large amount of files (500 and up files) due to its interface. It is optimized to load an average amount of 200-300 files, because it reads all files at once and this operation requires some time.

Our suggestion is to organize the files in several folders (200-300 files in each folder) so that the browser can load them faster as well as to avoid the error message.
