I'm trying to create a custom theme based on windows8 theme.
I'd like to redefine color palette and change default windows8 colors: accentbrush, basicbrush and so on.
Tell me please, is it possible? Can I redefine them the way I redefine Styles? (<Style ... BasedOn="..." ...>)

Hello Lena,

You can easily change colors in the Windows8 theme by setting the properties of the Palette object in code behind like:

Windows8Palette.Palette.MainColor = Colors.Black;
Windows8Palette.Palette.AccentColor = Colors.Orange;
Windows8Palette.Palette.BasicColor = Colors.DarkGray;
Windows8Palette.Palette.StrongColor = Colors.Gray;
Windows8Palette.Palette.MarkerColor = Colors.LightGray;
Windows8Palette.Palette.ValidationColor = Colors.Red;

Also it might be useful for you to review our Color Theme Generator application that will help you generate custom palettes easily and see how our controls look with them. Also you can copy all needed palette resources to the clipboard and paste them directly to your application.

I hope this helps.
