I am trying to place some controls on the top panel that holds Application Name and Title. I wish to place a RadComboBox on the left side where quick access bar is originally placed and some textblocks/hyperlink controls on right side. Is it possible? If yes, I need a pointer in the right direction.

Hello Rahul,

In order to implement your scenario you'll need to edit the ControlTemplate of the RadRibbonView control. This article can give you more information about the Template elements of the control - basically there is a Grid element that hosts the RadRibbonView TitleBar elements and you can add more children in it and rearrange the current children collection to better suit your needs.

You can edit the template of the RadRibbonView in ExpressionBlend, but please keep in mind that if you're using Silverlight 5 you'll need ExpressionBlend Preview for Silverlight 5. This article explains how to edit the RadRibbonView ControlTemplate and it can put you on the right track. Let me know if it helps.
