[Solved] RadGrid for Silverlight

Hi,

When will be able to get an early look at RadGrid for Silverlight? We're developing with the rest of Teleriks Silverlight components but desperately need a proper grid control? Can we get an early look?

Hi Paul,

We can't share anything right now. Basically we are working on porting the existing WPF grid to Silverlight, so you can get almost a complete idea about the Silverlight grid by looking at the WPF Grid control (http://www.telerik.com/products/wpf/overview.aspx).

Our plans are to ship the Silverlight Grid control with our Q3 release (scheduled for the begining of November).

If you have any specific scenario or feature that you need from the Grid - now is the time to let us know :).

Can you give any detail about how the filtering UX will be accomplished?  The UX team loves the filtering on RadGrid but not so much with style on the WPF grid.

Hello Jon Masters,

We are aiming at providing the same filtering UI for Silverlight as we do for WPF. If, by RadGrid, you mean the ASP.NET RadGrid and its filtering row. We do not have that feature for WPF/SL yet, and we will be implementing it for a future release.

Hello Vivek Kumar,

In order to remove the indentation of the grid you will need to edit a few templates - namely GridViewHeaderRow, GridViewRow, GridViewNewRow, GridViewFooterRow, GridViewGroupFooterRow and GridViewGroupRow. In those templates there is a PART_Indent presenter and setting its Visibility to Collapsed will do the trick.

Also there is an indentation related to hierarchy which can also be found in those templates and I would suggest hiding those as well if you are using hierarchy.

Last I am attaching you a sample project which removes the indentation of GridViewRow and GridViewGroupRow.

Hi, I am trying to use this trick, but when you remove the indentation there is still one extra cell in the grid header, which makes that the header cells and the columns below don't fit. Is it possible to remove this cell so that the values fit under the headers?

My guess is that the indent from the GridViewHeaderRow was not removed. If that is not the case could you please send me another screenshot or better yet a sample project so I can be of further assistance.
