First of all,

The RadMaps look GREAT!

Ok, I know that you're expecting this question, but any timeframe on integrating with Google's map data?  (They have much better resolution than Bing maps for certain countries.)

Also, I had written a while back about the possibility of a Globe.  Is that still being considered?

Great work guys!

Hello Chris,

Globe functionality for silverlight is pretty much on hold until there is native hardware assisted 3D rendering. The performance of our software renderer simply cannot be good enough to allow implementing this.

As far as google maps are concerned we will try to ship support for those in Q1 2010.

Best wishes,

Any thoughts or plans on creating a RadMaps for the RadControls for ASP.Net AJAX Suite, possibly built around google maps?

This would allow a lot of developers to easily integrating maps into their site with little effort. I know for many people, the real stumbling block is the amount of javascript required to get it working properly.

If you want to include a 3D globe in your silverlight application you can use the RADHtmlPlaceholder to achieve this results.  The integration is not perfect, but it is functional if you really want the globe.

Hi,

We will be researching an ASP.NET implementation in the coming weeks/months but we do not yet have a definite roadmap for a map control in our ASP.NET AJAX suite.
