Hello,

I'd like to know if there's any Q2 2009 package compiled with Silverlight 3. I cannot find it in internal latest build.

Thanks.

A.

Hello Andrea,

Silverlight 3 will be available officially on 10 July and we decided to postpone our Silverlight 3 release for Q2 SP1. We will do our best to upload this Friday our latest unofficial SL 3 build here.

Ouch, 2 weeks?

That stops any serious development with SL3 while we wait.

Or, as in my case since we're just using the grid we can change to the toolkit grid then re-evalute in a few weeks time when all the 3rd party vendors start shipping SL3 components.

Hi

Just got a quick question.

Assuming that I update my project with Silverlight 3 today, will the Q2 components I've integrate still work, or should I wait the silverlight 3 Q2 release in two weeks ?

Thanks, we really need a GridView.dll that doesn't depend on v2.0.5.0 of System.ComponentModel.dll. Not sure why your latest SL3 internal build does!

We use Telerik's GridView control in a SL app that we want to show early next week to our management.

The control is broken with SL 3 RTW release. We are not using advanced functionality so far. Getting the build that fixes this is very important for us.

Hi Ralf,

We have just uploaded the latest internal build of our Silverlight 3 controls that is compatible against Silverlight 3 RTW. You can log into your account and download the files under the Downloads section.

Wow great effort from the Telerik team. No other 3rd party supplier has pushed anything out as of yet. I've been hitting refresh on the other grid suppliers. infragistics, devexpress etc with no mention of SL3.

Obviously it's just a first push but kudos to getting the rebuild out so quickly.

This sort've support is sadly lacking from a lot of companies but obviously you guys understand that SL is a fast changing technology and no one wants to wait!

Thanks again.

Try rebuilding your references from scratch.

I've got SL3 RTM and the new build of RadControls for SL3 RTM and all works nicely together.

Thanks for the super-quick reply!

But, my problem remains:
When I try to set the GridView's ItemSource I get this:

Could not load type 'System.ComponentModel.BindableAttribute' from assembly 'System, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e'.

From Microsoft:

"3.13 BindableAttribute and BindingDirection have been removed"

Do I have to do some changes to my webservices? Currently I use an ObservableCollection as DataSource(ItemsSource)

Any ideas?

Regards,

Tom Rino

Bindable attribute was removed from the grid source. Please verify that you have our latest Silverlight 3 RTW build.

Hi,

I have just downloaded RadControls_for_Silverlight3_2009_1_622_trial from from http://www.telerik.com/account/downloads/internal-builds.aspx e I'm still getting the same error:

Could not load type 'System.ComponentModel.BindableAttribute' from assembly 'System, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e'.

What else can I do??

Thanks,

Weverton

Hello Weverton,

You have downloaded the latest internal build which associated with our Q1 release. The latest internal build for SL3 for Q2 is RadControls_for_Silverlight3_2009_2_710. In order get it, you need to have the Q2 release downloaded.

Hi,

I still have problems with the GridView with SL3:
  • With version 2009.2.701 I get this error: "System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Windows.Controls.Data,..." when parsing the xaml
  • With version  2009.2.720 I get this error when binding the ItemsSource: "Could not load file or assembly System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations,..."

I can fix the problem with the 701 version by adding a reference to an older version of System.Windows.Controls.Data, but that's not really an option...

Update previous post:

It seems to work with version 710, so my problem is fixed for now.
Still strange there is a (other?) problem again in version 720...

Just to confirm - is the latest drop version 2009.2.0812 for Silverlight 3 or Silverlight 2?

Does it replace that old "RadControls_for_Silverlight3_2009_2_724_dev" internal build?

Hi Tom,

RadControls_for_Silverlight_2009_2_0812 is entirely built on Silverlight 3.
There are dedicated Silverlight2_2009_2_812 if you need the dlls for SL2.

Sincerely yours,
Hristo

I pulled down the latest code and tried to run and got data grid error.  It appears the data grid does not work with the 3.0 verson of System.Windows.Controls.Data or System.Windows.Data.  Can you please explain why a 2.0 version of System.Windows.Controls.Data is distributed with the build and why we cannot use the latest version of System.Windows.Controls.Data?  If my assumptions are incorrect please let me know what I need to change to get this build to work for the data grid.

Error thrown:

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Windows.Data, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
File name: 'System.Windows.Data, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'

thanks!

Hi,

This dll definitely should be removed - you should not use this in case of Silverlight 3!

I'm developing an app using SL3. I had the same problem (File not found exception) for System.Windows.Data, v2.0.5.0 until I added an explicit reference to it in my project. Digging a little deeper, this assembly is referenced by Telerik.Windows.Controls.Gridview v2009.2.812.1030:
