The zooming in the RadCartesianChart doesn't always work. It often happens that when I select an area in the chart that I want to zoom into, nothing happens. It happens very frequently, and I often need to retry several times before the chart will actually zoom in.
There are no exceptions thrown that I know of...

Hi Jeroen,

We might need a little bit more information to understand what's going on, since we haven't experienced such a problem in our internal tests. A small sample application that replicates the problem can be of a great help to us.

I've taken the code from the linear chartview example (http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/#ChartView/Gallery/Linear) and added the following to the chart:

<chartView:ChartPanAndZoomBehavior ZoomMode="Horizontal"
   PanMode="Horizontal"/>

The problem is present in this application too.

The version of all the referenced Telerik dll's used is 2012.1.326.1050 (runtime version is v4.0.30319) (Silverlight 5 of course).
Visual Studio version 10.0.40219.1 SP1Rel. .NET Framework 4.5.50131 SP1Rel.
Running on an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU  750 @2.6HGz
4GB RAM (2.93GB usable)
Windows 7 Professional (SP1) 32-bit
NVIDIA GeForce GT 240

Hello Jeroen,

I used the code from the online demo in a sample application and unfortunately couldn't reproduce the problem you are describing. Can you please check this application in your environment and see if it is working properly?

Also, it happens in every browser I've tried: IE9, FireFox, Chrome, Safari and Opera.

Hi Jeroen,

I am afraid that we can't reproduce the problem you are experiencing in our labs. Will it be possible for you to create a virtual machine that reproduces the problem and send it to us? This way we will be able to investigate the problem locally and determine what is going wrong.

Greetings,

I'm afraid that creating a virtual machine will be very difficult...

I've found that the same problem occurs with RadChart (it appears to be a bit less frequent, but it might just be random luck). Maybe that's any help...?

Hello Jeroen,

We haven't experienced such a issue in our internal tests with RadChart. Can you please try to uninstall all the versions of RadControls for Silverlight and install only the latest one?

I doubt it has anything to do with what Telerik tools are installed on my pc. If I go to http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/#Chart/ZoomScroll I can reproduce the problem as well.

I've uninstalled, downloaded and re-installed the RadControls anyway, but no change.

Hello Jeroen,

We created a virtual machine using the specifications you shared in order to duplicate your environment. Unfortunately still we couldn't reproduce the problem you are observing. We are really running out of clues here. Can you please try to record a screen cast in your environment that reproduces this problem? Hopefully this will share more light here.

Kind regards,
