I had the docking control (futures) rendering in Expression Blend 2 just fine, then I installed Q1 and now it will not show in the Expression Blend editor (I get a catastrophic error in VS2008 preview)...but the xap builds and runs correctly. Anyone else have a similar experience? I have uninstalled all instances, reinstalled only Q1, and just tried to do a brand new simple project. I don't get any compilation errors in blend.

Any insight would be helpful!

Thanks in advance

Hello Ender,

It seem that there are some known issues with Silverlight Design-time in Visual Studio.
For example:
Preview window shows error if reopened
Occasionally, when the Preview window or XAML View opens, an error is displayed. This can occur if the last instance of the Preview window was closed and reopened without rebuilding the project. To work around this issue, try the following:
•          Always leave open at least one view of a XAML document in your project.
•          Rebuild the project.
•          If your project will not build, close and reload the project, or close and reopen Visual Studio.

You can read more about Silverlight known issues here:

Also you should update your reference to System.Windows.Controls.Data assembly.

About Blend Design-time - this is problem with Blend that we missed.
We will fix this for the next service pack.
