Purchase RadCompression

Hi, to use RadCompression do I have to purchase the full asp.net product?  Seems a bit of a waste as I only want RadCompression for Silverlight applications and don't do any plain asp.net.

Hi Scott,

RadCompression has always been a part of RadControls for AJAX and was never intended to be shipped as a part of RadControls for Silverlight. The sole purpose on our website is to show how different modules and components across our products can be used for achieving better performance. In your particular case there is not a problem to use only RadCompression from the AJAX controls - it does not have a visual part so no trial messages will appear. Of course if you need other components from the AJAX suite you'll need to obtain a separate license.

Thanks.  Just to be absolutely clear, as I don't want to be in violation of any license agreements.  Are you saying that its ok for me to download the Trial AJAX controls, pull out the Telerik.Web.UI.dll and use that in my silverlight app without purchasing the AJAX controls even beyond the 60 day trial limit?

This is correct as long as you're using only RadCompression from the ASP.NET AJAX suite.

I have use RadCompression with SL4+WCF RIA Service and it works well with HTTP. When I use HTTPs, result doesn't compressed. Please show me how to config in order to compress with HTTPs.
