Hi,

After the last update to the Telerik App Builder our development team has been experiencing various problems with the App Builder. We use App Builder on multiple computers(each with their own licensed version), as we have since the initial launch of Icenium, and each seems to have its own set of problems. We have duplicated the exact same project over multiple development machines and some produce different errors to others even though the code is identical.

These problems have knocked back our deadlines severely and we are no longer able to deliver our applications quickly and efficiently. This is also not the first update that has caused severe usability issues.

We are experiencing the following issues:

1) We are unable to generate QR codes.
2) We are unable to build to a device over USB (the device is never recognized by App Builder)
3) The simulator either fails to start or it crashes after a few minutes.
4) 'navigator' returns 'undefined'
5) List item 'onclick' function does not fire, even with multiple clicks.
6) Sometimes when adding new files(.html or .js), App Builder disconnects and fails to add the new file.

These problems are causing major setbacks and a solution is urgently needed. We would appreciate feedback as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,

Surgilog Team

Jason...  Just a confirmation of your problem...
WE ALSO ARE EXPERIENCING a number of problems after LAST UPDATE, but we are using the ( old ?) Graphite UI Interface... ALL OUR PROJECTS are GONE !!!... (or at least there is no way to access them )

Let's hope ICENIUM/Telerik take prompt resolution actions

Hello,

I am sorry for your unpleasant experience after the update.
In order to investigate your issues I will require some sensitive data so please open a private ticket and share it there.

@Jason
I suppose you are using the Windows client  so all below apply to it.
As a first step we will need your logs from  %localappdata%\Telerik\BlackDragon\Logs. It would be best if you generate a separate log for each issue or at least provide us the message from Show Output > Log window after its reproduction.
1) We are unable to generate QR codes.
A log will be needed.

2) We are unable to build to a device over USB (the device is never recognized by App Builder)
What is the device model and OS and does it happen with another one?
Does AppBuilder recognize it on any of the computers?
Did you try installing the latest USB drivers for it?

3) The simulator either fails to start or it crashes after a few minutes.
A log will be needed or the message from the client's Log window at the moment of the fail.
Consider closing the client and removing  %localappdata%\Telerik\BlackDragon\Cache folder as a solution attempt. Then try again using the Simulator.

4) 'navigator' returns 'undefined'
Try the solution from point 3).

5) List item 'onclick' function does not fire, even with multiple clicks.
Where does it happen? In the Simulator or on device?
Did you try to debug it?
Any additional information and details like a sample code or project are welcome.

6) Sometimes when adding new files(.html or .js), App Builder disconnects and fails to add the new file.
A log will be needed or the message from the client's Log window at the moment of the fail.
Also the steps we should follow in order to reproduce this are welcome.

@Hernan
Please provide your logs as well and some of the project names you are not able to find.
Check whether you find them in our in-browser client.

In the meantime try uninstalling Windows client, clear %localappdata%\Telerik\BlackDragon folder and install it again.
You may use our in-browser client to continue your work while the investigation is running.

Regards,
Zdravko
