I’m using:
Telerik controls for Silverlight 2011 Q1.
Visual Studio 2010 SP1
I have previously had installed the windows components, web components and the reporting components.
I have had other versions of telerik controls installed.

I’m having a problem with my toolbox

All my Toolbox items are gone except the standard ones. I work with Silverlight so there are few controls visible.

When I click on the “Choose Items…” link I get the “Choose Toolbox Items” window.

When I look at the “.NET Framework Components” tab there is a list of controls that are either checked or unchecked. I have lots of controls that are checked in the list that doesn’t show up in my toolbox (these are components that should be visible in the toolbox).

If I uncheck the components that don’t show in my toolbox, click OK so that the window closes and then again click the link “Choose Items…” the components have been checked again. I can’t get rid of them.

The list contains links to folders that doesn’t exist. It also contains links to items in my GAC that doesn’t exist.

How can I uncheck the controls and keep them unchecked?

How can I clean up the list so that only the available controls are visible?

I have tried with the devenv /ResetSettings, I have started VS in safe mode, I have repaired Visual studio, I have tried to uncheck components, closed visual studio and restarted in safe mode and normal mode, reinstalled Telerik components and so on but nothing works.

Any ideas?

Hi Carl-Johan,

If I understand you correctly, you have a Silverlight project type open. This means that you can only check or uncheck controls from the Silverlight Components tab as the .NET Framework Components are not related to a Silverlight application - they are related to ASP.NET, WinForms and other .NET project types (Silverlight is not part of .NET).

To be sure the toolbox shows only items for the selected application type you can verify that the Show All checkbox is disabled in the toolbox context menu.

For easier management of the Telerik RadControls for Silverlight you can use the Toolbox Configurator Wizard which can be launched from the Telerik Menu in Visual Studio (It is part of the Telerik Visual Studio Extensions for Silverlight which you can download from the Visual Studio Gallery).

I hope this was helpful.
