Hi,
I've a problem with RadMenu control now. Part of our application has a menu with about 10 items, when I try to acces them I'm using code:
var menu = slApp.FindName <RadMenu>("MainMenu");
var filemenu = menu.Items[1];
filemenu.Click();
it's from your video tutorial.
The using namespace is:
using Telerik.WebAii.Controls.Xaml;
The problem is that menu is always empty and i'm getting the error 'Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.' all the time. Before menu appears we have two login screens that passed successfuly by code:
TextBlock NextButton = slApp.Find.ByText("Next");
Wait.For<TextBlock>(block => block.TextContent.Equals("Next"), NextButton, 30000);
NextButton.User.Click();
TextBlock AdmNextButton = slApp.Find.ByText("Finish");

Hi Alexander,
This issue sounds like an incompatibility of the WebAii RadControls for Silverlight and the RadControls for Silverlight building your application under test. Can you please share which version of RadControls is that? Is that a recent or an older version?
Is there a way I can see your SL application (the RadMenu in question) live? If so, I will be able to find an easy workaround.

Aleksandar asked me to join party again :)
The build we run at the moment is 2009_2_724 . I wanted to update it for some time now... (because of latest improvments in grid ctrl) and so i can do it today...i have just downlaoded RadControls_for_Silverlight_2009_2_904 . We will let you know what will haappen with this version as well.
I can give you access to our staging but it would be better if we can do that in private (over email).

Hello Konstantin,
Same thing with the build RadControls_for_Silverlight_2009_2_904 .
On my pc also every test with click() don't pass .. On Aleksandar's pc it does work... i have ie8 he have ie7 ...

Maybe you would like to know... click() on my pc did not work because i set page zoom to 120% on all pages in IE.
When i changed default page zoom to 100% click did work.
Anyway initial and main problem remains...

I've forwarded the Click() and zoomed page problem to ArtOfTest and they will investigate the problem. Thanks for sharing this information!
As to the empty Items collection, I hope my directions send privately help. Just to clarify publicly, the .Items property looks for items of specific type -- RadMenuItem. Since your RadMenu contains items of different type, you need to get the item via the core framework API as in this help article.
We may provide a way to override the item element type in subsequent releases of the framework. This could be helpful with many of the RadControls (like all the navigational components), not only RadMenu when the type is inherited. We may even add that ability for the official release of the framework in Q3 especially if we notice more people need it. Please let me know what you think.

Hello Konstantin,
With your help we manage to overcome this issue with RadMenu. We did manage to navigate our custom MenuItems in your suggested way but in the end we settled with standard RadMenuItem which we also manage to access without any problem.
Anyway I few other cases we do have real need to extend your standard objects and some built in support in your testing framework for extended Telerik controls would be very helpful as this is unavoidable in lot of cases.
