Hi,

I’ve come across what appears to be a limitation of your docking controls.

I’ve read on these forums that this may not be possible, but really wanted to make sure as we’d really like to achieve this.

Our shell late loads a PRISM module that contains a DocumentHost with SplitContainers into the MainRegion. This works fine.

However when I then went to add a SplitContainer docked to the right of the shell which sits outside the late loaded Prisim module (we have several PRISM modules in our app) – the system complains that it can’t find the MainRegion.

See attached image below…for exact layout. Essentially we’re wanting to have a DocumentHost contain another document host.

Can you please advise if this can be done.

Thanks

Hello Simon,

Thank you for contacting us.

I understand what is your scenario, but we don't support nested document hosts. What you could do is to create second Docking control and place it inside of the DocumentHost. Nested docks are not supported as well because there could be some problems when dragging/floating/pinning panes, but you could try it. All you need to do is to set RadDocking.AllowUnsafeMode to true.

Hope this helps.
