Hi,
I have a grid that is bound to 500+ records with 11 columns. When enabled the sort feature, you click the header of every column to sort it, it will very very slow. If you set the IsSortable of every column to false,if will be fast.Do you have some suggestion to optimize this?

Was there ever any resolution to this issue? I'm just wondering what the expected performance should be with 15 columns, and 600 rows? I've bound it to an ObservableCollection, and it seems to be really slow compared to a standard Silverlight datagrid (like, <1s to 3s)
I'm wondering if I should be binding to anything else to improve performance?

We've never received more info about this problem. You can check for example this demo to know more how the grid will sort 1 mil. records. With our upcoming Q1 2011 Beta you will get even faster performance with sorting.

Ok thanks. I've tried out binding a grid to 1000 records, where each record has 15 string properties (randomly generated), and it seems to be quite a bit faster than in my other code.
I can only think the sorting is being slowed down by one of the properties in my "real life" version. Even with 6 columns, 600 records it's about 2s to sort. Are there any "gotchas" I should be looking out for? Binding to null properties or something?

Please verify if the grid is not measured with infinity. This can happen if the grid is inside StackPanel, ScrollViewer, etc.
