I just installed the latest build with VS 2012 and this what JustCode looks like right after startup.  It uses more memory thant VS itself.

I've been a long time JustCode user but this unacceptable.

But did it affect performance?

Yes..  It's horribly slower.  CPU percentage for analysis is up at 25% every time I open a file.

I'm having the same issue after installing latest version on VS2010. Performance is unacceptable writing code seems like running VS in a pentium 2 machine. If this continues I'll need to uninstall it.

I rolled back to the previous version.  I'll see how that works out.

Hi all,

 Thanks for the feedback.
We are aware of this issue and we are working on to fix it.
I would suggest you to turn off the Color Identifiers from JustCode menu -> Options -> Visual Features and there disable Color identifiers option. Is it better this way?
Thanks.

I tried that last night but it didn't seem to have any affect.  I rolled back to the previous version and all is better now.

I have JC color identifiers off and also noticed some delay in response. Not sure if it's plain UI problem but it may be as it seems JC took over the painting completely, even the default VS highlight is now controlled by JC and I can see as I type a word that it's partially highlighed but some letters are not, and then JC catches up and highlights the whole word. It's not what you experience with bare-bones VS and it doesn't feel right.

Back to 719 build too...

@Telerik

Here are is an example.  I added a parameter to a method and JustCode didn't catch the error.  However, the VB error list shows six errors.

Hello all,

 We already fixed the latency issue.Probably it will be released with the next internal build.

@Russ
Would you provide a sample project with your issue?

Thank you and stay tuned.

Zdarvko,

Here is a sample.  There is a squiggly line in my project and hovering shows the exception.  However, no error shows in the JustCode window.

Zdarvko,

I guess it didn't take my attachment and I didn't notice.  I'll open a support ticket.

I'm finding if I open a new file and paste something in I get a popup saying VS is waiting for a background process to complete and it lasts for like 5-10 seconds.

Uninstall JC, and this doesn't happen?

...its annoying, like pasting in a trivial amount of text like 5 characters freezes VS2012 for a crazy amount of time, I can jing it too, happens every time.

Hi,

 @Steve
In what kind of project and what kind of new file are you using in order to reproduce it?
I tried but nothing happened.
Would you turn off all of your extensions and try to reproduce it with JustCode enabled only?
Thanks.

When debugging and using my WPF program in VS 2010, my performance is terrible.  My work XP computer with a old non-solid state drive and old intel Core DUI CPU, runs the debug mode much faster than my beast at home 64bit win 7 OCZ PCI Express, AMD FX-8150, 2133 DDR3 ram with Just code.  My xp work computer is basically unusable with Just Code (Which is fine considering it's xp and non-solid state drive).

Just Code is really great, but it's not worth the performance hit.  Maybe it's just a temporary thing,  I'll try it again in a few months.

EDIT:  Maybe it's not the Just Code on my home computer.  It's so hard to tell what's slowing things down. Maybe I'd just want performance options. I probably only use 10% of Just Code

Hi,

@ Dan Parker

Thanks for contacting us.

Would you try disabling the following components one by one and track the behaviour:
-JustCode's Visual Hints (JustCode menu\ Options\Code Analysis\Hints - all checkboxes to be unchecked.
-JustCode menu\ Options\Visual Features, and JustCode Options\Visual Features\Structural Highlighting.
-Typing Assistance (JustCode \Options\Typing Assistance) and see after that whether you will have the same issues with JustCode? Just to make sure that those are not at fault in your environments.

Please, send us your logs located at %localappdata%\JustCode\Logs. Maybe there is something unusual.
Thanks.

I think things are fine.  It was probably something else and I've upgraded my memory size.  I usually like to like 4 Visual Studio projects open at the same time and I just notices that each JustCodeAnalysis.Any.NET4.exe takes up more memory than devenv.exe (but then it eventually goes away).  I have enough memory now that it's not a problem.  Actually sometimes it keeps the 200-300mb and sometimes it brings it way down, then back up.  The memory is probably free, but maybe the garbage collection doesn't care because there is so much free memory.  I'm going to upgrade to windows 8 and VS 2012 soon anyway.  I don't think I have any problems now with 8GB.
Thanks for the tips above also to reduce the load.
