Hi There,

Just got all set to test Telerik.
Downloaded "Telerik.SalesDashboard_Silverlight_2009_3_1314.zip" but half-way through the unzip process it asks for a password. Using the default windows unzip.

I tried to search the forum first - but could not find an answer.

Any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks.
Moni

P.S. Got the zip from:
Your Account->Downloads -> the link below RadControls for Silverlight -> "Source Code, Automatic Installation, Manual Installation, Examples..." -> from there I only got the sales dashboard zip.

Hello Moni,

Thank you for your question.  The zip file that we offer for the Sales Dashboard demo actually should not have a requirement for a password, so we are unsure why you are experiencing this issue.  Generally speaking none of the demos on our site should require a password, so my best guess would be to try redownloading the file to see if it might have been an issue with the download and your compression program seeing this as requiring a password.

I also just spoke with a member of our sales team who should have sent you a link to a private download for this demo- please let her know if that version works for you.

Thank you and sorry for the trouble!

Greetings,

Evan, Thank you so much,

I indeed received the e-mail and downloaded the file. This one unzipped fine.
Now the new problem is that it does not open in VS WevDeveloper 2008 Express. Many modules do not open. I sent back an e-mail with the screenshot.
FYI:
The file from the regular download that required password was named: "Telerik.SalesDashboard_Silverlight_2009_3_1314.zip"
The file from the e-mail link was called "SilverlightDashboard-1314.zip"

About my environment: Recently installed all needed for Silverlight - that is to say - it appears that all that is needed was set OK (it seems). I can also see Telerik controls listed as available in the VS2008 .NET Add-References window.

Many thanks for any tips.

Hi Moni,

Thanks for the follow-up.

The reason for the different file names is that I downloaded the demo, extracted it, then re-zipped it to a new file to ensure no issues when you downloaded it. :)

Also, in regards to your issue, Visual Web Developer is meant to be used for web-based development, however the Sales Dashboard that you downloaded represents a composite application that has both Silverlight (web) and WPF (desktop) elements, so parts of the project are incompatible with VWD 2008.  If you would like, you can download a free trial of Visual Studio 2008 from Microsoft, which would have all the requirements for running both web and desktop applications:

Hey - thanks - that closes the issue.
Yeah - sure - about the files. I only mentioned it as an FYI - for whatever it is worth.
Many thanks man.

P.S. Mentioning it - again - for whatever it is worth.
Maybe some sort of a note (like VS2008 only, Not Express!) well visible at the location where the downloads are listed could potentially decrease this sort of support cases. It could be that this is mentioned somewhere else but where I got the file from (location described in my original posting) I could not see info like that.
Again
Thanks
