Hello guys, I just wanted to let you know that I came upon a bug. I tried to verify that Menu control element is not visible by doing verifications as suggested on this video "http://tv.telerik.com/webui+test+studio/webinar/q1-2009-release-kick+off-and-intro-to-webui-test-studio" (32:21) and I got this response:
Exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Design.IntrinsicTranslators.Silverlight.Descriptors.VisibilityVerificationDescriptor.ExtractData(SilverlightApp hostApp, DescriptorValueStore dataStore)
at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Design.IntrinsicTranslators.Silverlight.Descriptors.VisibilityVerificationDescriptor.ExtractData(IAutomationHost targetHost, DescriptorValueStore dataStore)
at ArtOfTest.Common.Design.Extensibility.Sentence.PerformVerificationValidation()
I've also attached the image with the FULL response.

Thanks for the post and feedback. I was able to reproduce a similar error message using this example page and the current public WebUI 2.0 beta release.
The scenario you described is a not visible verification, while the steps I used were for an is visible verification. But I believe it is the same bug, so if you could please confirm my reproduction steps look similar:
1) Highlight 'File' with the red rectangle
2) Wait for the Element Menu to appear and click on it
3) Select 'Build Verification'
4) Select 'Visibility' and 'is Visible' verification
5) Click 'OK' button
I tested this same scenario in the latest internal build and it looks fixed. If you can post your repro steps against the sample page for me to try on this end, it would be appreciated.

Nelson, the steps you wrote are the same steps I did myself
1) Highlight 'File' with the red rectangle
2) Wait for the Element Menu to appear and click on it
3) Select 'Build Verification'

I can't provide the link for this application it's very big and "internal" but, if you guys want me to test your newer assembly against it I will be happy to do that. Just send me email with link for: app/dll's.

The build is labeled 2009_3_1204 and you may consider it as a pre-release candidate. It is really close to the official release coming in a few days. Konstantin, I have problem downloading the file. I click on the link eg: "2009_3_1204" it looks like the download had started and then after a 1 sec Firefox says it's canceled. Same thing with the IE.

Can you please re-try? I just managed to download the first 15% of the file from the same location and it keeps downloading. It might have been a temporary problem either with the site or with your connection.

Konstantin, I've finally downloaded the package (with the help of download manager) and installed it. But now, I don't have the "WebUI Test Studio designer" in my test project and in output window I've got the message "Error loading C:\Documents and Settings\Default\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\TestProject18\TestProject18\WebAiiTest1.aii: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Hello again Kodja,
I tried installing the internal build, and I do see references no longer being correct in existing test projects. But it seemed to work alright when adding a new test to a new project.
Was this happening with a new project when adding a WebAii Test, and is the error is re-thrown when you try to click and open the test again? Also, which version of Windows were you running?

Hello Nelson, I tried (a few times) adding the new Test project didn't wanted to mess up the references from the old ones. I'm using WinXp Pro SP3 with VS2008.

Hi again Kodja,
That was indeed the verions of Windows I installed on. I'm attaching templates from the internal build. Please close out Visual Studio, then copy the ZIP'd contents in the respective C# and VB folders and replace those found in the following paths on your machine:
{installdir}\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\CSharp\1033
{installdir}\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\VisualBasic\1033
Then open up a Visual Studio command prompt and type in 'devenv /InstallVSTemplates'. From there, please try opening up another project and adding another test.
If this does not work, you may need to roll back to the previous version. That or you can wait until the official release that will be next wekk. Sorry about the inconvenience so far, and let us know if this works or not.
