Hi,

I have a project where the entity sets (the context properties that get all the entries from a given table) are somehow related to the table name. The pluralization that happens when creating the model from the database breaks the relation. Is it possible to not pluralize the entity sets automatically?

Regards,

Alexis

Hi Alexis,

There is an option in our Naming Strategies for pluralization of the collections. From there you can either instruct our naming mechanism to pluralize/singularize or keep your associations unchanged.
You can find those options on initial model import or you can apply them on your existing model using the Batch Operation Dialog.

Hi Petar,

These documents explains how to manage the pluralization of the Class names, the Properties and the Fields. However, I can't see how to control the naming scheme for the entity sets that are exposed as properties of the context. By default, those properties use the pluralized class name. I'd like to keep it unchanged from the class name.

The properties I refer to can be found in the OpenAccess Model Explorer, under Domain Context and then Entity Sets.

Did I miss something from your previous answer?

Thank you,

Alex

Hi Alexis,

Unfortunately, controlling the pluralization of those entity sets is currently not supported. We have already received this feature request from other people so we will probably introduce some this enhancement in one of our future releases.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused until this feature is implemented.

Hello Andrej,

I am afraid there has not been many requests about this functionality and it is currently with low priority in out backlog. Please feel free to add an entry to our Ideas & Feedback portal, so other customers can vote for it and higher the priority.

Alexander
