We have many types of tree-like data, such as sequential workflow activity tree. We would like to have the workflow tree view, diagram view, timeline view, and Gantt chart on the same tree via styling options.

The tree view has (1) the node levels displayed in Y-axial with different indent; (2) items at the same level displayed in Y-axial with the same indent.

The diagram and organization chart have (1) the node levels displayed in Y-axial; (2) items at the same level displayed in X-axial.

The timeline and Gantt chart is an extension of tree view, have (1) the activity tree displayed in Y-axial; (2) activity time span displayed in X-axial.

WPF and Silverlight have powerful styling options for multiple views. By the same token, Microsoft Silverlight Toolkit has a tree view demo, which as optional style as organization chart. It demonstrates hot to style a treeview into an organization chart.

I appreciate your consideration on its feasibility.

Hello Frank,

I would say that dedicated charting controls would be a better choice since they would be specifically made for the purpose. However, you should be able to display the kinds of charts you describe with a treeview by changing the templates. You can see a somewhat related example of a treeview turned into a type of organization chart here.
