Are there currently any plans to implement a multi-select drop down control or provide a way to customize the Telerik MVC Combo Box so that a custom panel or content customization can occur to render the drop down as a list of checkboxes so that a multi-select could be created?

Hello Adam,
By design Telerik Combobox (or DropDownList) does not support multiple select. The only component which supports multiple values is the AutoComplete component.
