MouseLeftButtonDown event not firing on Button inside SlideView

i have a button in the ItemTeplate of a SlideView and I am not able to get the MouseLeftButtonDown event to fire. How do I allow this event to pass through to my Button control?

Edit:  figured out that my problem has nothing to do with the SlideView. In order to to handle the MouseLeftButtonDown and MouseLeftButtonUp events, you must set the ClickMode of the button to "Hover"!
