Hello Jay,

The Fiddler MCP server runs locally over HTTP, not HTTPS - the URL is  http://localhost:8868/mcp  (port is configurable under Settings > MCP Server > Manual setup). If you (or Claude Desktop's UI) are entering  https://localhost:8868/mcp , the connection will fail/be refused because there's no TLS listener on that endpoint.

To fix it:

1. In Fiddler Everywhere, go to Settings > MCP Server > Manual setup, confirm the port, and generate an API key.

2. Edit

(macOS)

~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

or (Windows)

%APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
Claude Desktop's config file supports arbitrary JSON, so you can set  "type": "http"  and  "url": "http://localhost:8868/mcp"  even if the in-app UI nudges you toward  https:// .

3. Add the  Authorization: ApiKey <your key> header as shown in the docs.

https://www.telerik.com/fiddler/fiddler-everywhere/documentation/agent-tools/fiddler-mcp-server#claude-code

4. Restart Claude Desktop.

Also confirm Fiddler Everywhere is running and you're on a Pro subscription (required for MCP). If still stuck, check Fiddler's own MCP status under Settings > MCP Server to verify it's listening, and paste the exact error Claude Desktop shows.
